40 acres located on the pristine shoreline of Nelligan Lake in Baraga County's Craig Lake State Forest. The acreage is high, rolling terrain, with mixed mature timber of several species. There are many good building sites to choose from with breathtaking settings overlooking Nelligan Lake. The land has a lot of contour and unique features including a long point that protrudes out into the lake. A nice walking path that could be improved into a driveway brings you from the road to the lake. There is a small inlet stream on the West side and a large outlet stream that joins an outlet from Thomas Lake to form the Nelligan Creek. This junction is located within the property boundary and makes for a great canoe and kayak adventure. A full Limnological lake study has been done on Nelligan and the report is available. Nelligan Lake is about 32 acres in size with an average depth of 6 feet and depths up to 11 feet. A large population of largemouth bass can be found along with yellow perch and numerous forage species. "Nelligan Lake is a good quality lake. Judging from the available habitat, depth structure, and water chemistry, it would appear to have excellent potential largemouth bass." Dean Premo, White Water Associates.
